About Listen Literary Journal

Listen for the energy of the dialogue.
Robert Stanhope - Editor LISTEN Journal
ROBERT STANHOPE
Editor/Founder
Robert began his writing career in motorsports at a speedway in Claremont, New Hampshire. Speed ahead 30 years from those weekly race reports and years on the road covering events on the east coast, he has put his journalism days behind, sort of. Now, a transplant living on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Robert is writing flash fiction and poetry, and sparking a new literary journal in LISTEN. Robert is a social individual and is inspired to write by the conversations had with complete strangers. Learn more about Robert on his website.

JOIN THE LISTEN TEAM - VOLUNTEERS WELCOME
LISTEN is a new literary journal. We're building a team of avid readers and talented editors to mine diamonds from a mountain of submissions (more like an ant hill since we have recently launched). We can't pay you with money, but we offer bylines and reciprocal links. Robert, our founder, planted the seed and hopes that one day LISTEN will grow into a money tree and the leaves will gently fall into the wallets of writers and supporters like you. He knows it's a dream. He's a dreamer. If you are too, reach out to join our team. Send Robert an email to begin the conversation.

Listen

“Long before I wrote stories, I listened for stories. Listening for them is something more acute than listening to them. I suppose it’s an early form of participation in what goes on. Listening children know stories are there. When their elders sit and begin, children are just waiting and hoping for one to come out, like a mouse from its hole.”
